TRACKING THE PROPAGANDA WAR
Last Updated: April 30 2003

This page outlines some of the bent truths, and straight-out lies that have been told by Bush and his
minions (in which category I place, among others, the White House, Downing St, and the mainstream
press).

Gentlemen Of The Press(ident)
April 30 2003
Obediently, the mainstream media has continued to colour-in and disseminate the paint-by-numbers
templates provided by the politicians in Washington, London and Dohar. Hence, even though they very
carefully report the war as "almost" over, nearly 6 weeks after it began, they are no longer
reporting the war. The tally at iraqbodycount
continues its steady rise, yet all mention of combat has vanished from the news, to be replaced with
sports.
Seemingly unbiased reporting of anti-US protests fools many skeptics into submission, giving the
media credibility, while continuing atrocities go unreported.
The recent leak by a "mid-level
executive" at one of the big three American networks of 1500 pages worth of memos from head office
is evidence of the extent to which the news is manipulated.
Yet there are journalists who still believe in free press, who question the official line, and who
hold opinions contrary to those of their masters. But they are a rare breed, headed for extinction, as some
are fired, and others
shot.

Paving the Warpath to
Syria and
Iran
April 13 2003
Why has the invasion focused on a path straight up through the centre of Iraq? Because Syria and
Iran on either side are the next targets (we were in the neighbourhood, and just thought we'd
drop by), and the longer chaos is allowed to reign on their borders,
the more likely those two countries are to do something to justify invasion. If they keep their
cool, the momentum of the inevitable east and west clean-up pushes out of Baghdad might be enough
to carry US forces over their borders, and to prepare the public for just such action, a whole
host of what are conceiveably entirely fabricated accusations are being presented by Bush and his
spokespeople.

Iraqi Civilians Welcoming US Troops into Baghdad
April 13 2003
This image published by Reuters supposedly shows an Iraqi civilian ecstatically greeting US troops
as they arrive in Baghdad. This image shows the same man
standing behind Ahmed Chalabi, the leader of the US-allied militia "Free Iraqi Forces" taken two days
earlier in Nasariya, southern Iraq.

Staged Statue Toppling
The masses are no doubt glad to see the back of Saddam Hussein, but this was a US Army propaganda
coup, staged for the benefit of the same journalists it had bombed the day previously, and which the
British media have swallowed hook line and sinker. Shame on them.

Depleted Uranium /
Gulf War Syndrome II
So far this crusade to "rid Saddam of weapons of mass destruction" has failed to find any such
thing. However, thanks to a grand corporate conspiracy, US soldiers are poisoning themselves,
Iraqis, and Iraq into the forseeable future with radioactive bullets, made cheaply by one big
company from material that another big company couldn't figure out how to get rid of.
