That war in Iraq, the one to rid Saddam Hussein of the weapons of mass destruction that he'd already gotten rid of himself; to free the Iraqi people from Saddam's military dictatorship, into the bloody wringing hands of Bush's military/corporate dictatorship; to oppose terror with shock and awe; to win hearts and minds in a depleted uranium shooting gallery; well it's no surprise that things are such a mess over there these days, or that Afghanistan and Palestine have flared up again.

What is a surprise is that Bush remains president of an America whose ratings in every financial, social and political arena are riding the same basement-bound escalator, while Californians have replaced their chump with a chimp.
